Archive of smiles

If you enjoy cartoon art, particularly in the editorial vein, visit the National Cartoonists Society members page and have a blast reading some very amusing autobiographies.  It's time well spent and it may bring back some fond memories.  My favorite entries, and I am biased as hell, are of the classic MAD Magazine artists like Jack Davis, Mort Drucker, Al Jaffee, Angelo Torres, etc.

60s and 70s Mad was the best. Wish I still owned the stuff I had as a kid.

I still do. Man that was some primo material for a 10-year-old to be reading back then. Cynical, enlightening, insane, clever, revelatory, and very, very funny stuff. Nowadays MAD has a "kid" version designed I guess to compete with the mindless fluff of Nickelodeon. Yuck. If we could only somehow reanimate Bill Gaines' fat ass to save us...
