Report: Denver to be site of 2008 Democratic National Convention

I've heard all sorts of scuttlebutt and speculation over the last few months, and here we go again.  Marc Ambinder is reporting on Hotline's On Call blog at the usually reputable National Journal that the Mile High City has finally scored the '08 Convention.

"A Democrat who was briefed said that chairman Howard Dean made the final decision yesterday, weeks later than planned," says Ambinder. "DNC comm. dir. Karen Finney declined to confirm the choice."

What conviced Dean about Denver hasn't been disclosed yet, Ambinder writes. Maybe he saw a few episodes of the latest Real World and was moved by the eloquence and selflessness of our visionary twentysomethings. When they're not shit-faced, stupid and violent, that is.
